Paramedic Program (EMT-P)

Overview
Paramedics are trained to provide advance life support in medical and trauma related emergencies.

This Paramedic program is offered as a Certificate Program or towards an AS Degree in EMS. The program is intended for the student who wishes to complete the core curriculum and be eligible for certification by the State of Florida to practice as a paramedic.

Course content includes lecture, skills lab, and hospital/fire rescue rotations as outlined in the core requirments of the Emergency Medical Services A.S Degree Program. (More Information!)

Career Note:
Credits earned in the Paramedic program can be applied toward an A.S Degree in EMS!

Paramedic Admission Requirements:
  • Students must be a certified Florida EMT - (GET CERTIFIED with HCI! )
  • 18 years of age
  • Have High School Diploma or GED
  • Meet school application process requirements - Details pg.5
Program Hours @ 36 Weeks (3 Semesters):
1112 Total Hours

Breakdown:
692 Lecture (502) and Skill Lab (190)
240 EMS Ride time (includes reports / paperwork)
160 Hospital Time (includes reports / paperwork)
10 CPR and HIV
1112 Total


Paramedic Program Costs:
Cost of tuition apx. $5550.00
or $1850.00 per semester

(Includes Lab, Clinical, and Malpractice Insurance)


Note: Uniform and shoes will be according to dress code.  Dress code will be discussed during orientation.
 
Payment plans can be made as follows:

$1850 payment must accompany application
$1850 payment must be made when registering for second semester
$1850 payment must be made when registering for third semester
